Sunday Dance is about creating a holy (non-religiousl) space for ourselves every week on a Sunday morning. It is about your own personal truth - being in contact with your body, your spirit, the music, the dance and in communion with each other. Sunday Dance is a free-form ecstatic dance class. This class is open to all ages, levels of dance and fitness. Parents are welcome to bring their children.
Each week a different theme is explored. Venue is in close proximity to the beach, Sunday markets and cafes.What helps make Sunday Dance so unique?
Sunday Dance is a free-form ecstatic dance class. This class is open to all ages, levels of dance and fitness. Parents are welcome to bring their children. Each week a different theme is explored. Venue is in close proximity to the beach, Sunday markets and cafes. You are not expected to dance the entire time. You can sit on the couches provided and witness people; you can draw in the art corner; you could simply sit and meditate in the space or journal a poem inspired by the weekly theme. You might even try to revisit your ability to hula hoop!
Cost: Sliding scale: $15-$20 - you choose what you pay
Children under 16yrs - Free
Timing: 2hrs (1/2 hr warm up and free form ecstatic dance with guided theme)
Please bring: water and comfortable clothes to move in.
